 Open to photographers, pro and amateur, worldwide. Although no boundaries or rules are set up in this Portrait Award, we are mainly looking for images as expression of the art of capturing a subject (a person or a group of people) in which the face, facial features as well as facial expressions are made predominant. Surrealistic images, collages, and digital manipulation altering or manufacturing the reality are allowed in this competition. There are no restrictions regarding the date images were taken.

Juror:
Margarita Mavromichalis. Photographer. Winner of the 9th Pollux Awards. Her work has been displayed in exhibitions in New York, Boston, San Diego, the Museum of the City of New York, the Brooklyn Historical Society Museum and most recently in Budapest, Athens, Paris and Berlin. Selected images are part of the permanent collection of the Museum of the City of New York and the Brooklyn Historical Society.

Exhibition:
Winner of the 2nd Robert Cornelius Award and photographers awarding Honorable Mentions will be invited to exhibit in Barcelona at the Valid Foto Gallery on Q1/Q2 2018. The Gala Awards will be in charge of all gallery and setup expenses, and photographers will paid a fixed exhibition fee of $70 per work, and print and framing costs. Printing and framing will be done by The Gala Awards, for which photographers will have to be able to submit 300 dpi files in printing size.

Winner and selected photographers will be invited to be part of the 5th Biennial of Fine Art & Documentary Photography to be held on Q3 2018 in Prague or Barcelona, and will be featured in the online gallery in this site for two years.

Set of 3 single images: $50
Each additional image thereafter: $10
